Temporally Token-Reflexive Experiences
John Searle has argued that all perceptual experiences are token-reflexive, in the sense that they are constituents of their own veridicality conditions. Many philosophers have found the kind of token-reflexivity he attributes to experiences, which I will call causal token-reflexivity, unfaithful to perceptual phenomenology. In this paper, I develop an argument for a different sort of token-ref...
متن کاملUnsupervised Type and Token Identification of Idiomatic Expressions
Idiomatic expressions are plentiful in everyday language, yet they remain mysterious, as it is not clear exactly how people learn and understand them. They are of special interest to linguists, psycholinguists, and lexicographers, mainly because of their syntactic and semantic idiosyncrasies as well as their unclear lexical status. Despite a great deal of research on the properties of idioms in...
متن کاملIdentifying synonymy between relational phrases using word embeddings
Many text mining applications in the biomedical domain benefit from automatic clustering of relational phrases into synonymous groups, since it alleviates the problem of spurious mismatches caused by the diversity of natural language expressions. Most of the previous work that has addressed this task of synonymy resolution uses similarity metrics between relational phrases based on textual stri...
متن کاملOn the relation between verb full valency and synonymy
This paper investigates the relation between the number of full valency frames (we do not distinguish between complements and optional adjuncts, both are taken into account) of a verb and the number of its synonyms. It is shown that for Czech verbs from the Prague Dependency Treebank it holds “the greater the full valency of a verb, the more synonyms the verb has”.
متن کاملVietnamese Named Entity Recognition using Token Regular Expressions and Bidirectional Inference
This paper describes an efficient approach to improve the accuracy of a named entity recognition system for Vietnamese. The approach combines regular expressions over tokens and a bidirectional inference method in a sequence labelling model, which achieves an overall F1 score of 89.66% on a test set of an evaluation compaign, organized in late 2016 by the Vietnamese Language and Speech Processi...
